Navasota Busted Mugshots and Booking
Navasota is the largest city in Grimes County and its center of gravity. The 2020 Census put the population at 7,643. Enforcement there does not come from a single shop. The Navasota Police Department, under Chief Michael Mize, patrols the city itself. County deputies and state agencies also work in and around town. The practical effect is simple: whoever made the arrest may not be the one holding the booking record afterward.
City arrests head to the Grimes County Jail in Anderson for booking. A KWHI report describes one Navasota Police arrest transported there. The photo was credited to the county jail. That confirms the county booking path for that case. It does not prove every Navasota arrest follows the same route, so treat it as one documented example rather than a rule.
Each Navasota record belongs to a stage. The arresting agency keeps the first report. The jail holds booking material that comes later. A call to the Jail Division answers a current-custody question, but only that question. Someone released may drop out of that check entirely, and a person moved to state custody belongs in a different system tracked by the state. The court file, when a case ends, closes out the story. Knowing which stage you are looking at saves a lot of dead-end calls.
Where Navasota Busted Mugshots Appear
There is no official Navasota Police arrest log or daily booking page to check. The city's press releases are not a booking feed. Grimes County publishes no verified public roster or same-day results page either. So the practical route is direct contact: the Police Department for a city event, and the Jail Division or Records Division for county booking and custody questions.
| Channel | Photo status | Official status | Best use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Navasota Police Department | No public photo-results page located | Official | Identify city agency and request its records |
| Grimes County Jail Division | Booking photo may be maintained, not confirmed online | Official | Confirm current county custody by phone |
| Navasota Examiner Jail Log | No standing public gallery established | News source | Review delayed, periodic county booking coverage |
| RecentlyBooked Grimes | May display a photo | Unofficial | Secondary clue only, verify with the custodian |
Among major aggregators, only RecentlyBooked has a verified Grimes County page. It can show a city arrest, but it is not an official roster. Entries can sit there stale after a release, a correction, or court action. No local Navasota or Grimes sections were verified for Busted Newspaper, Mugshots.com, Arrests.org, or Mugshots.zone, so none of those should be treated as a source for the city.
Busted in Navasota: Lookup Route
A name plus an approximate arrest date sharpens the official path considerably. The city runs no live Navasota booking search, so a newspaper story or an aggregator entry will not tell you who is in custody right now. For the wider picture of jail inquiries, court records, and booking requests, see the Grimes County records and custody page.
- Check the Navasota Police Department information to identify the city agency and whether it handled the event.
- For a current or just-booked county-custody question, call Grimes County Jail Division at 936-873-6439. A released person may no longer be in county custody.
- Ask Navasota Police Records for a city report, or ask Sheriff Records for a booking record or photograph held after county intake.
- Give the custodian a name, approximate date, and arresting agency if known. Request only the relevant record and ask for the legal basis of any withholding or redaction.
- Use the county court-record route for disposition. A charge as booked is an charge, and a court disposition is the later case outcome.
When a person moves into state custody, the TDCJ Offender Search is the locator to use. It covers that state slice only. It is not a Navasota booking search, and a hit there says nothing about who is still sitting in the local jail.
Navasota Police Records Requests
Start a city report request at the Navasota Police Records and Forms page. The department has its own digital and printable form for police requests. The city's public-information route asks requestors to bring or mail that form in, not to send it to the general city email other departments use. No police-specific booking-photo fee or turnaround has been published, so ask for an estimate under Texas Government Code Chapter 552 rather than guessing at either.

If the photo or index you want was created after county booking, go through the Grimes County Public Information Request route. Name the office, a narrow date range, the person, the record type, and how you want it delivered. The county may send an estimate or ask a clarifying question, and lawful exemptions can force redaction or withholding. An incident report and a booking photograph are different records, so say exactly which one you need.
The official Navasota Police Department page identifies the municipal agency and its records contact.
Keep in mind that the department page gives you an agency contact, not a public Navasota booking-photo or daily arrest-log result.
Note: No city or county source publishes a fixed fee or release time for a Navasota booking photograph.
Why Navasota Busted Photos Stay Offline
Navasota has no public photo page for local bookings. That does not mean no booking photo was ever taken. The Grimes County DPS reporting plan lays out the behind-the-scenes workflow in detail. Fingerprints and a photograph happen at booking. IDENTIX software processes them, a transaction record number called a TRN gets created, and CR-43, CR-44, and CR-45 reporting forms follow. IDENTIX is just the booking system named in the plan. The TRN is an identifier born from that same process.
All of this points to one distinction worth remembering. These images live inside a secure reporting pipeline, not on a public website. So ask the proper custodian whether a photo is kept and releasable. That is the right move. A current-custody phone call, a narrow records request, and a later court search each answer a different question. None of them unlocks a standing photo portal.
Navasota Busted News Limits
Start with the local paper. The Navasota Examiner runs a Jail Log, a periodic wrap-up covering several days of county bookings at once. It always appears after the fact. The log names people who were booked and sometimes adds a charge description or a custody label. That is about it. An entry can stay printed long after a person has walked out, so treat it as history rather than a live custody check.
Event-driven reporting works differently. KWHI's Navasota arrest report identified transport to the Grimes County Jail and credited a Jail photo. That shows a news outlet can obtain an official image for one story. It is not a standing public gallery, though, and no outlet covers every Navasota booking. KBTX touches selected regional events too, never a full feed. For the wider local media picture, see Crime News. Whatever a story prints, dates, photos, and charge descriptions hold up best against the official jail, records, and court sources.
ICE Detainers and Navasota Custody
An ICE-detainer label in the Examiner Jail Log means exactly that. A detainer was noted. It does not mean the person sits in ICE custody right now. A detainer is simply a request tied to another agency's interest. County custody and immigration custody run through separate channels, and each needs its own check.
For people within its scope, the official ICE Online Detainee Locator is that separate channel. The search is strict. It takes an exact nine-digit A-number plus country of birth, or an exact first and last name plus both country and date of birth. The locator offers no public booking-photo feature. A no-result does not erase a county record, and a county label does not establish ICE custody.
Navasota Arrests and Court Status
Booking records and court records capture two different moments. Someone booked locally may be released, transferred, or moved into state custody later on. The custody trail tells you where a person is. The court file tells you what happened to the case. For the second question, the official Grimes County court-records page connects to Re:Search Texas and LGS Online Records Search for eligible county court material.
A disposition is the court's final outcome. That might be a dismissal, a conviction, or some other resolution. It matters far more than an arrest story or a charge label from intake. The two search routes surface different eligible material, and neither one confirms current custody. When an online search comes up empty, call the county or district clerk instead of assuming the case vanished.
